The place today

Shuwaymiyah lies on the wild coast between Al Wusta and Dhofar, backed by canyons and high cliffs. It is one of the most scenically dramatic and least developed parts of the country.

• No services, and long distances in both directions.

• Ras Madrakah lies approximately 147 nautical miles to the north.
• Mirbat lies approximately 101 nautical miles to the south.
• Distances are indicative great-circle estimates with a routing allowance, not navigational data.
