Strategic connection

Ras Madrakah

5 MIN READ

The place today

Ras Madrakah is a rocky headland with black-rock beaches on an otherwise empty stretch of coast south of Duqm. There is no yacht infrastructure of any kind.

Cruising notes

  • Anchorage in settled conditions only; no services.
  • Sits in one of the longest infrastructure gaps on the entire Omani coast.

Position on the coast

  • Duqm lies approximately 48 nautical miles to the north.
  • Shuwaymiyah lies approximately 147 nautical miles to the south.
  • Distances are indicative great-circle estimates with a routing allowance, not navigational data.

In the proposed network

Proposed as a transit marina and safe harbour rather than a destination: fuel, shelter and basic service to close the passage gap south of Duqm.

Classification in the concept: Transit marina · data status CONCEPTUAL.

All network classifications, footprints and roles are preliminary and conceptual. They are planning propositions for study, not approved projects or confirmed government decisions.
