The international front door

Al Mouj — Muscat

5 MIN READ

The place today

Al Mouj Marina in Muscat is the country's most established yacht facility, integrated into a large waterfront community and located minutes from Muscat International Airport.

For visiting crews it is the practical front door to Oman: berths, services, provisioning, restaurants and immediate air connectivity.

Cruising notes

  • Direct access to the capital and to international flights — the natural crew-change point on the coast.
  • Rocky headlands and clear water to the east and west, with Bandar Khayran within an easy day sail.

Position on the coast

  • Mussanah lies approximately 44 nautical miles to the north.
  • Jebel Sifah lies approximately 39 nautical miles to the south.
  • Distances are indicative great-circle estimates with a routing allowance, not navigational data.

In the proposed network

The concept treats Al Mouj as the central global hub of the network in Phase 1 — the arrival point where international visitors, capital and media first meet the project, rather than a site requiring new marine construction.

Classification in the concept: International maritime hub · data status EXISTING · Phase 1 role: CENTRAL GLOBAL HUB.

All network classifications, footprints and roles are preliminary and conceptual. They are planning propositions for study, not approved projects or confirmed government decisions.
